The Student Council meets twice a term with the same model structure as Local Council and Parliament. The students tackle issues such as cyber-bullying and healthy eating (and have been actively involved in meeting with the Finance Department and Canteen Managers to discuss a more healthy diet for Douay students). The Student Voice is one we consider to be incredibly important at The Douay Martyrs Catholic Secondary School. The students make valuable input into the school community, and to be elected by the student body to be part of this council is an honour and a privilege. The Student Council also has links with the Hillingdon Youth Parliament which holds its annual elections in February. The candidates are invited annually to speak to each year team via assemblies to enable students in the school to make appropriate votes.
Furthermore, the Student Council is actively involved with The Jack Petchey Foundation. Please see refer to 'The Jack Petchey Award' in the 'In This Section' menu to the right of the screen.
