Music

Enrichment Activities:
The Music Department offers a wide range of enrichment activities which students can attend. Activities run both during lunch times and after school.

Club / Activity Information
Show Choir A lunchtime rehearsal for those that enjoying singing in a Glee/Musical Theatre style. Rehearsals with Mrs. Hughes are held in the Music Department on Monday and Thursdays.
Chamber Choir A lunchtime rehearsal for a selected group of voices singing a combination of sacred and secular music. Mrs. Arnold leads rehearsals in the Music Department on Wednesdays.
Gospel Choir Run by Mrs. M Brown, the Gospel Choir rehearses after school.
Rock Bands A lunchtime rehearsal for those that enjoying rocking and playing upbeat tunes/songs. 
Music Theory Club Help with preparation for the ABRSM music theory exams. Pupils meet with Mrs. Arnold on Thursdays after school.
GCSE/A-Level Revision Club (Spring/Summer Term only) Help with exam revision Y10-Y13 on Mondays after school.
DMS (Autumn Term only) Rehearsals on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays after school.

Students are able to take part in a wide range of performance opportunities throughout the school year, with roles in our annual production, carol concert, liturgical events, GCSE Music evenings and spring concert. 

Peripatetic Lessons:

The Music Department offers a wide range of instrumental lessons. Actively learning to play an instrument can help a child’s academic achievement and there is little doubt that playing a musical instrument is great for developing skills needed for life-long learning.  Playing a musical instrument also enhances a pupil's engagement with the arts and understanding of culture in society. Instrumental lessons occur during the school day on a rotational basis and incur a fee. Details of different instrumental lessons on offer:
