The Jack Petchey Awards at the Beck Theatre

On Tuesday April 2nd students and staff from The Douay Martyrs were delighted to attend the Jack Petchey Awards at the Beck Theatre Hayes. As always it was a fantastic evening and the atmosphere was electric. A number of our students did amazing performances and we thank them whole heartedly for giving their time:

Adrian, Year 9; Adam (also an award winner) Year 9, Nick, Year 7 and Tameka, Year 7. We saw nine of our student winners collect their awards together with our Jack Petchey Leader of the year, Miss Maxine Potgeiter.

Miss Potgeiter gives so freely of her time on Saturday mornings and during the holidays to run extra classes without pay and runs the daily breakfast club. She always puts the needs of students first and is a true example of The Douay Way and the Common Good in action.

Each student awarded has gone over and above in our school community. They have £250 to spend on specific areas in the school chosen by the school council and on the back of our Leader award we have applied for a grant for student cookery classes over the holidays.
