Arts Soiree by Creative Arts and PE Faculty

On Tuesday 19th June the Creative Arts & PE Faculty held an Arts Soirée giving pupils, once again, an opportunity to perform in music and drama. As well as songs from all three school choirs, we had performances from instrumental pupils, a school band, the Drama Department and members of staff.

The school has three school choirs from Mrs Considine's Glee-style Show Choir to Ms Brown's Gospel Choir to Mrs Arnold's Classical Chamber Choir meaning the pupils get to experience an array of different musical styles.

There was a performance from a band organised by Year 8 and 9 pupils to explore their love of performance.

We enjoyed some teacher performances from Mrs Brown's jazzy rendition of 'Summertime' to Mr Parker's delivery of his original composition.

Light relief was provided via a monologue and duologue form 'Blood Brothers' the ever entertaining classic musical.

Finally, there was an art exhibition around the Main Hall populated with choice pieces from Douay's GCSE Art pupils.

Overall, it was an excellent evening's entertainment. We really appreciate so many people coming out to support us on such a beautiful Summer's evening. Hope to see many of you again at next year's event!
